______is the powerful person?

The talk about the Sci-Fi movie/film

Again, it is the time to updates the blog because we went to the exhibition at APW, Bangsar last week. In addition, we are honor to be joined the talk event about Sci-Fi movie/film that organized by the group of artists at the same times. To be honest, I really happy to go for the trip to explore the new knowledge but it was little disappointed me because of nothing much in the exhibition *I don't know why and I feel nothing on that day so I didn't took any photo from the exhibition The explanation for why the exhibition is nothing, because of some artworks were taken down at 26 February 2017. The artworks are "Pangkror Sulap's <Sabah Tanah Air Ku>" from Escape that from Sea Exhibition 2017 that organized by the Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur (JFKL). *I did a blog last week but not clear enough so today I will go into this  Basically, the issue is happened because the organization received a complaint about the artwork saying it was P-R-O-V-O-C-A-T-I-V-E and final decision was take it down to avoid any troublesome to any parties. About the decision, the artist said something:-

“I think we are most disappointed by how it was handled. We knew there would be some backlash especially on social media about why it was removed and we wanted the organisers to answer these questions.
“We wanted them to take responsibility for answering it and hopefully defend the artists’ work,” said Rizo Leong, another one of the collective’s founding members.
“In fact they initially sent us an email to say we had ‘misread’ the concept. But we had worked with our curator for about a year on the concept and they were well aware of what we were doing,” he said.
The collective came to the decision to withdraw from the exhibition to protest the censorship of their artwork and the artists’ integrity, saying that it was “demotivational” to their craft.
Although the artists are disappointed and feel unfair on the decision but they are not be afraid for the further action that cause them to stop their inspiration of doing meaningful artworks, so they had said:-
“We learned a lot from this experience, but we won’t stop doing what we are doing,” said Manjat.
“Art should never be censored, it is a form of expression that needs to be defended. We do not have a political agenda, we are just giving a voice to the people,” he said.

Overall of the issue, I can definitely says that no one is wrong and no one is right on this particular issue, because what I am understand and what I can stand for the points are:

-From the Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur (JFKL), they definitely are the "big boss" of this exhibition because they are the one sponsor to make this exhibition happens *the final decision is always depends on them lol don't say they are not based in art so they are not clear blah blah blah

-From National Art Gallery (Balai), they definitely need to follows what the majority wish to have the decision where they are working under the government, so means they also can only do is follows the instruction ordered by the powerful people *no matter they are the one who sets the rules and regulations for the criteria of the artworks but they obviously not the "boss" to make the decision

-From the only one person who complaint the artworks and cause the artworks to be taken down *wow seems this person is the most powerful one and cause so many parties become so hectic and troublesome Was this person's fault? How do you think? What if this person also being forced by someone to do this kind of complaint? Who knows? No one can judge by the cover of the book But if this person really feel the same about the artworks then I can says to this person is I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT ARE YOU THINKING??!! *if you see my blog please secretly pm me about the reason of your complaint, I will really appreciate and keep it until I die lol

-From us as an audience, we are supposing to support one of the side (artists) to shows that we are really love the artworks where it should not be taken down since we are the media students. What can I share about this, the fact is I really admire and respect the artworks by the artist but I am not the victim or witness of the issue, therefore I have no right to judge who is right or wrong *I am only  a student who love arts and that's all HAHA

Well, is time to say goodbye and the last trip in this coming week that I really hope there is something inspire me. Oh the talk event about Sci-Fi movie is QUITE INTERESTING but I have no idea about that then I will stop here before I starts nagging *lol
